Authors

Abstract

One of the central themes involving countryside's youth in Brazil is the migration process, which causes these young people leaves the countryside toward urban area. This decision between staying or leaving the countryside runs through several questions, meanings and disputes. Thus, the aim of this study is to understand and situate the possible relations between school education and migration, reflecting on the possibilities of the social occupational therapy action in this context. There’s much to be done for the consolidation of a school education that enables young people from the countryside to choose the direction of their lives without tensions arising from the status quo. The research concludes that therapeutic-occupational actions can contribute to the routing of these problems, with strategies to broaden the possibilities of social insertion of these young people.
