Abstract

This article explores the relationship between censorship and (re)writing in Carlos Muñiz' theatre. The study of two of his masterpieces and their censorial reports leads to the analysis of the author's (re)writing process as an aesthetic shift to escape from censorship. This process is explored in two instances: firstly from positivism to expressionism and secondly as an enhancement of the latter. Finally the aesthetic impact of censorship in Muñiz' theatreis assessed.
