Abstract

This article proposes the study of the manifestations and meanings of eroticism in The Savage Detectives. Roberto Bolaño's novel can be read from an "erotic anarchy" that is a ritualized exploration of pleasure and, in this sense, is divorced from any connection with reproduction. For Bolaño, eros is a force that liberalizes men and women, transgressing cultural and economic patterns of hegemonic discourses. Thence the intense, varied and disruptive erotic wanderingreal visceralistas poets and lovers in The Savage Detectives.
